Cookie Bird Nest
With most schools only allowing prepacked treats we decided to come up with this fun spring/ Easter treat idea.
Materials
- Oatmeal Creme Pies
- Tan Tissue Paper
- Spanish Moss
- Small Foil wrapped chocolate eggs
- Scissors
- Hot glue and Low temp hot glue gun
- Tape
Directions:
- tape down the loose pieces of plastic on your cookie to the back side
- cut a strip of your tan tissue paper (appx 4″-6″ wide, and the full length of the paper)
- fold tissue piece in half long wise and then begin twisting the tissue paper
- glue twisted tissue paper around the bottom of your cookies edge, continue to wrap and glue till it forms a slight wall of tissue paper leaving the center of the cookie exposed
- add a dab of hot glue to the center of the cookie, place a small handful of Spanish moss to the glue
- place in the center of the moss your foil wrapped eggs
NOTE: the plastic wrap on the cookie stays in tack the entire time, glue the item to the outside of the plastic (I recommend using a low temp hot glue gun so it does not melt the plastic)
