Easter Sock Friends Craft
Materials:
- Socks (Yellow for baby chicks and desired colors for bunnies)
- Uncooked rice
- Rubber Bands
- Hot Glue and glue gun
- White and Pink pom poms (the size all depends on how large you make your bunnies)
- Black sharpie
- White paint marker (optional)
- Raffia or Chenille stems
- Ribbon (desired colors for bunny and chicks
- Scissors
- Orange felt
- Yellow feathers
- blush and blush brush (may use paint if desired)
Directions for Bunnies
- begin by filling your sock with rice (fill to about 3/4 of the way full) gently squeeze your sock/ rice about 1/8 of the way down the top of the rice determining how large you want the bunny head to be, add a rubber band at the bottom of the bunny head and add one at the top of the head.
- once you have shaped its body and head take a pair of fabric or sharp scissors and cut the top of the sock in half down to the top of the bunny head- you will end up with two halves of the sock at the top your your bunny head, shape/ cut each half into bunny ears
- Hot glue on small strands of raffia or chenille stems for the bunnys whiskers
- Hot glue over your whiskers, pom poms to create the bunnies nose
- Use a sharpie to add the eyes (optional: using a white paint pen add white dots in the bunnies eyes)
- Hot glue on the bunnies ribbon or tie ribbon around the bunnies neck adding a bow in front
- Add a white pom pom to the back of your bunny for a tail
- Add some light pink cheeks by using some blush and blush brush (you can also dry brush your cheeks with acrylic paint)
Directions of Easter Chicks
- begin by filling your sock with rice just over 3/4 of the way full
- place a rubber band around the sock just at the top of where the rice is
- trim some the the excess sock leaving appx 1″ of sock above the rice/ rubber band
- trim several slits in the top of the remaining 1″ of sock trimming downward making it appear more feather like
- Hot glue some yellow feathers at the top (I glued them in the middle of the trimmed sock pieces, mixing them in)
- Cut a beak out of orange felt and hot glue onto your sock
- Use a sharpie to add the eyes (optional: using a white paint pen add white dots in the bunnies eyes)
- Add some light pink cheeks by using some blush and blush brush (you can also dry brush your cheeks with acrylic paint)
- Hot glue on your chicks ribbon (either a bow tie for a boy or a bow at the top for a girl)
