DIY PVC Candelabra

DIY PVC Candelabra 

This is such a fun idea for Halloween, it was a quick and fairly inexpensive project, and it looks amazing.

Materials:

  1. 4 each 10″ 1-1/2″ pvc
  2. 1 each pvc 1-1/2″ X connector
  3. 4 each 1-1/2″ pvc caps
  4. 1 each 4′ 1-1/2″ piece of pvc
  5. 1 each 1-1/2″ pvc coupling
  6. 1 each 1-1/2″ to 3/4″ pvc reducer
  7. 1 each 3″  3/4″ pvc
  8. 1 each 1/2″ pvc X connector
  9. 4 each 5-1/2″ piece of 1/2″ pvc
  10. 4 each 1/2″ pvc traps
  11. 4 each 4-1/2″ piece of 1/2″ pvc
  12. 5 each 1/2″ pvc couplings
  13. 1 each 6″  piece of 1/2″ pvc
  14. 4 each skeleton hands (they have them at most craft/ Halloween stores (I found mine at Michaels craft store) sometime the dollar store has some as well. 
  15. 1 each skeleton skull head 
  16. 5 each dollar store candle holders
  17. Industrial strength glue
  18. sand paper
  19. Candles (I used led ones)
  20. Black mesh or gauze
  21. Spray paint
  22. Misc. embellishments (we added some spiders randomly on the frame and the skull head

Directions:

Bottom piece assembly

  1. Place your 1-1/2″ X connector on the ground and insert 4 each 10″ 1-1/2″ pieces of pvc into each slot
  2. Push your 1-1/2″ caps on the ends of each
  3. Glue your 4′ piece of 1-1/2″ pvc to the top center of your X connector (sand it a little first to give the glue a rough service to adhere to)

Middle section

  1. Attach a 1-1/2″ coupling to the end of your 4″ piece and then attach your 3/4″ reducer to that
  2. Attach your 3″ piece of 3/4″ pvc into the end of your reducer

Top section:

  1. Take your 1/2″ X connector and insert your 4 each 5 1/2″ pieces of 1/2″ pvc in to the ends of your X connector
  2. Attach your pvc traps into the ends of your 5-1/2″ pieces
  3. insert your 4 each 4-1/2″ pieces of pvc into the other ends of your traps
  4. Take your 6″ piece of 1/2″ pvc and use your industrial glue to adhere it to the center of your 1/2″ X connector (sand it a bit first)
  5. Attach the other end of your X connector to your middle section frame by using your industrial glue (you may need to tape in place while the glue sets up
  6. Glue your candle holders to the center of each of your 4 your hands and the top of your skull
  7. Glue 5 each 1/2″ couplings to the bottom of your 4 hands and the bottom of your skull
  8. Once the frame, hands and skull are all dry attach your 5 each couplings to the top of your frame- skull in the center
  9. Once assembled you can paint your frame (you can do this before you assemble your hands and skull or mask them off if you attach them first

Add some embellishments to your candelabra by gluing on some spiders, adding some black cheese cloth or mesh over your lights ect..
